On participation in the Flag-raising ceremony

On July 1, 2026 Acting Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in the Hong Kong SAR Darya Bohdan participated in the Flag-raising ceremony.

The event is traditionally held on the Anniversary of the Etablishment of the Special Administrative Region – marking Hong Kong’s return to the Mortherland.

Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR John Lee delivered a keynote address to the participants of the event marking the 29th Anniversary, summarizing the four-year track record of the Government he leads. In particular, he highlighted achieved economic growth and improvements of quality of life, as well as the development of Hong Kong’s first five-year plan – «forward-looking and directional guiding document providing clear directions for Hong Kong’s economic and social development». He also emphasized that July 1st is notable this year for marking the 105th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Lai Ka-ying – Hong Kong’s first astronaut, who traveled to Earth’s orbit this May – also addressed her compatriots in a video message.
