On participation in a briefing on the development of financing for the intellectual property sector
15.12.2025On 9 December 2025, Darya Bohdan, Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in the Hong Kong SAR (PRC), participated in a briefing on the development of financing for the intellectual property (further – “IP”) sector.
IP objects include, in particular, patents for inventions, industrial designs, and integrated circuit topologies.
At Cyberport, a technology hub and accelerator for the development of artificial intelligence in the SAR, representatives of the competent authorities spoke about plans for the practical implementation of measures announced in the 2026 Policy Address by John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR.
In particular, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Andy Lam and Deputy Director of Intellectual Property Thomas Tsang spoke about the legal regulation of regulatory sandboxes for IP objects, government grants to cover the costs of commercial evaluation of IP objects, and plans to improve the legal regulation of the industry.
